Social media is crucial in today's interconnected world. It serves as a vital platform for communication, collaboration, and connection. It facilitates networking opportunities, allowing individuals to forge personal and professional relationships. The skills I developed regarding social media in college have been vital to my learning. Social media is only becoming more important regarding advertising. Knowing how and to who you should market your business is a skill that will become insurmountable.

The office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) helps to bring resources to students and ensure all students are recognized and respected. I've had the opportunity to run their social media since January 2024, and I have been so grateful to get to work and learn from those in charge of this office. Venture Outdoors' mission is to remove barriers and create access to outdoor experiences for everyone. During the summer of 2024, I did my internship here. My goal was to showcase the organization's personality and the beautiful and relaxing nature of its programming. I specifically worked on their Kayak Pittsburgh account, making TikToks and reels. WSRU-TV is Slippery Rock University's on-campus television station, of which I am the President and Executive Producer. Our social media uses clips from our shots to encourage people to watch. We have had periods where we didn't have members able to help with social media, so it has become my responsibility. You can see the social media account by clicking the link above.
The office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging on SRU's campus is a space dedicated to ensuring fairness and justice in the distribution of resources and opportunities to students, faculty, and staff. I have had the privilege of getting to work with and learn from the staff in this office. They have sparked a passion for advocacy in me that I am so grateful for.
Venture Outdoors' mission, in short, it go get people outside seeking adventure. They advocate for the opportunity to educate and equip people on how to get outdoor experiences - especially for the people of Pittsburgh who may otherwise not be able to. This job was amazing because I got paid to go kayaking with friends and make fun content out of it.
I was continuously managing this page alongside at least one social media/PR board member at a time throughout my time as WSRU-TV President. We focused on promoting specific parts of our shows, as well as showcasing the fun and inclusive environment of our shoots. Due to our diverse range of show topics, we continually have new content to promote them. This account also allowed me to experiment with some AI software, such as Opis AI.
