At a point in my life, I thought I might become a novelist. Those days are gone, but they have been replaced with a career that involves writing for every single project, idea, plan, and production. The organizations I have been involved with at Slippery Rock University have enabled me to write both creatively and professionally. Below is a collection of artifacts from different clubs that I have been a part of and written for.
Rocket Articles
The Rocket, SRU's student-run newspaper, has allowed College Dress Relief to write a column for the Student Life section of the print edition. I have written a few of these articles while sharing this opportunity with other students since the spring semester of 2024. Having the opportunity to tell the student body about CDR while also expressing my thoughts, opinions, and sharing my experiences, in a published article has been such a fun learning opportunity for me.
Fashion’s impact on identity
Fashion is one of the most impactful parts of our lives whether you are a self-proclaimed fashion hater or have your style pinned to a “T.” This is true whether you are decked out in scene gear, or if you are one of those folks who is so minimalist they wear the same tee-shirt and jeans every day.

I know we have heard about the flaws in fast fashion and the industry as a whole before. However, there is an entirely different part of fashion and retail that goes largely ignored, especially by those who have never worked a retail job: plastic waste.
